Anytime I find a green anemone with clown fish I'm going to stick around for a while to try to capture the contrast of the bright orange against the green backdrop.

I used a small strobe flash to fill in the colors of the orange clown fish against the anemone background.

Basket anemones like this one are great photo subjects--especially if the clown fish is swimming outside the tentacles (like the one pictured here).

I haven't seen many anemones with dramatic purple undersides like this one.

Used the flash again here to balance the foreground with the clown fish and the background of the sunset.

Not so far from Apo's 'Clown Fish City' I found these two hanging out.

I took a few minutes to get several shots of these clown fish and their purple anemoe at Apo's Cogon Point.

    Again with the green anemone.

Not all clown fish are good to photograph, preferring to stay buried in the tentacles of their anemone so you can't see them. These two were much more relaxed and swam up to the camera on cue.

Wish this purple anemone was in shallower water, would have been great to get a brighter background and more natural light.

Did the 'Frankenstein' flashlight effect with the strobe on this Tomato Clown fish to make it look scarier. Didn't really work because clown fish aren't so scary.

It's tough to get a shot of a clown fish looking directly at the camera for some reason.

These three orange clown fish were pretty happy to perform for the camera and swim well above their anemone.

Tomato clown fish are usually a lot more aggressive than the smaller orange ones. I've even seen them bite people who get too close.

The tentacles of this green anemone were tinged with purple.
