Capturing the energy and magic of the world’s best surfers riding the world’s best waves has been one of the most challenging (and rewarding) aspects of my photography career thus far.

With the peak moment of the action only lasting a fraction of a second, a surf photographer has to anticipate the shot before it happens—all while swimming in powerful ocean currents and dodging waves that can top out at the size of an office building.

This gallery includes my favorite shots from some of the best waves in the world. Most of the photos were taken around Bali, Indonesia, but a few are from other famous waves like Pipeline in Hawaii and Cloud 9 in the Philippines. Big thanks to Philippe, John, and the amazing team at Liquid Eye Water Housing Systems for all their help over the years with the housing for my camera—most of the shots included here were taken with gear from their shop.

If you see any shots that catch your eye for a magazine article, print ad, or to hang on your wall, just send me an e-mail and I’ll get back to you right away. I’m also currently accepting new clients for location / destination photo shoots. I’m based most of the year in Bali, Indonesia, but am available to travel internationally if you’d like to talk about working together to create a collection of one-of-a-kind images to complement surfing, watersports, or tropical lifestyle magazine or brand.
